Google ARCore Testing and Certification Services
I.About Google's ARCore
ARCore is a platform launched by Google for creating augmented reality (AR) experiences. By utilizing the sensors and camera on mobile devices, ARCore allows your phone to perceive its environment, understand the world around it, and interact with information through various APIs.
For a device to use Google's ARCore features, it must first undergo testing and certification. Only after passing this process can the device preload or use the Google ARCore APK.
II. What Can ARCore Do Specifically?
1. Motion Tracking: ARCore can accurately sense the position and orientation of your phone using its sensors and camera. It adjusts the position and orientation of virtual objects accordingly (as shown in the image below).
2. Environmental Understanding: ARCore can detect flat surfaces, such as the table in front of you or the floor, and accurately reproduce these surfaces in the virtual space (as shown in the image below).
3. Light Estimation: By using the phone's ambient light sensor, ARCore can detect lighting conditions in the environment and adjust the brightness, shadows, and texture of virtual objects to make them blend more naturally into the surroundings (as shown in the image below).
III.Google's ARCore Certification Timeline
Based on previous project experience, ShenGuang estimates that the ARCore certification process typically takes 2 to 4 months. Manufacturers who require this certification are advised to contact us in advance and plan their project timelines accordingly.
IV. Google's ARCore Certification Process
1. Confirm business cooperation and prepare a prototype.
2. Fill out the application form and apply for ARCore certification authorization.
3. Once authorization is granted, testing can begin.
4. After successful testing, Google will notify via email.
V. What Devices Can Be Certified for Google's ARCore?
1. The device must be an Android system.
2. The device must be portable.
3. The device must have a camera.
Therefore, devices that typically require ARCore certification are Android smartphones and tablets.
